Green Weddings

The time has finally come! I am engaged to be married, and my fiancé and I are extremely excited. We are already planning our dream wedding. We are both very into the whole going green idea, and so we have decided that we are incorporating that into all aspects of our wedding. Even my wedding dress is going to be eco-friendly. Many typical people and celebrities are choosing to make some green choice throughout their wedding planning, and you can too. Take a look at these tips for holding the perfect green dream wedding. -Make smart decisions for the attire. You would not believe the amount of waste that is created from the process of making just one wedding gown. It is unreal. If you are willing, look for a used wedding gown instead. I found mine at a vintage shop, and it is prettier than any other dress that I have seen. If you still want your dress to be brand new, no worries. Many designers are going green and using organic cotton or even soy on some wedding dresses so that waste is reduced. Another great tip is to let your bridal party wear clothes they already own. Most men have a black tux and ladies can wear dresses that they already have that match your color scheme. -Keep the guest list to a minimum. Sure, I love a big soiree like anyone else, but the fact is that the more people that are in attendance the more waste that is produced. Be sure to account for the amount of cars driven to the site and the food being thrown out, etc. when you are making your guest list. -Choose a wedding ceremony location where you can hold the reception too, so guests do not have to drive as much and therefore cuts back on some of the exhaust fumes. If you still want to have a reception elsewhere then you should consider asking people to carpool to the ceremony and then to the reception. -Give green gifts. For our wedding gifts we are giving everyone tree seedlings so that they are able to plant a tree. We are even planting a tree in the park where we are marrying, with the park’s permission of course, during the ceremony. There are a ton of unique ideas for favors and gifts that are green for your wedding. -Have fun with your wedding preparations, and remember that a green wedding is a great wedding.
